The United Kingdom is one of the most popular destinations for Indian travellers - for tourism, visiting family, business meetings or short courses. Every Indian passport holder needs a UK Standard Visitor Visa before travelling: there is no visa on arrival, and Indians are not eligible for the UK ETA (that scheme is only for visa-exempt nationalities).

A major change landed on 25 February 2026: the UK switched to a fully digital eVisa linked to your passport, instead of a sticker. You still apply online via UKVI and give biometrics at VFS. UK visitor-visa decisions hinge on your finances, travel history and proof you will return to India - which is exactly where careful preparation pays off. At Flynk Tours (Delhi NCR), we build that file with you.

Same Standard Visitor framework, with a sponsor / invitation letter and your host's status and accommodation proof. A common route for parents and relatives.

Marriage

Marriage Visitor Visa

For getting married or registering a civil partnership in the UK without intending to settle there. Around £135, valid ~6 months.

Checklist

Documents for a UK visitor visa

The standard checklist for Indian applicants - we tailor it to your profile.

💲 Show strong, stable finances

As a rough guide, show funds of about £100 per day of your stay. Avoid sudden large deposits just before applying - consistent statements look far stronger to UKVI.

The 2026 digital eVisa change

Since 25 February 2026, the UK no longer puts a visa sticker (vignette) in your passport. Instead your visa is a digital eVisa linked to your passport through an online UKVI account.

What stays the same: you still apply online and give biometrics (fingerprints + photo) at a VFS centre. What changes: after approval you access your visa via your UKVI account - so it's important to keep your passport details and account up to date. We walk you through setting this up correctly.

Most refusals are about doubt over funds or intent to return. Here's how to be strong.

Prove ties to India

Job, business, property, family - clear reasons you will return are decisive.

💲

Stable finances

6 months of steady statements beat a sudden big deposit. Show you can fund the trip.

📝

Consistent application

Your form, cover letter and documents must all match. Contradictions cause refusals.

Never misrepresent

Fake documents can trigger a 10-year UK ban. Honesty, presented well, always wins.

📅

Apply early

Allow 8-12 weeks in peak season, or use priority service if you're short on time.

🩺

TB test if over 6 months

Only needed for long stays - book it at an approved clinic in advance.

From 25 February 2026 the UK stopped putting a sticker in your passport. Your visa is now a digital eVisa linked to your passport via a UKVI online account. You still apply online and give biometrics at VFS.

No fixed amount, but show roughly £100 per day of your stay with stable 6-month statements. Proving you can fund the trip and will return to India matters most.

A TB test from an approved clinic is required only for stays longer than 6 months. A normal 6-month visitor visa does not need it.
