What a 5-Day Dubai Trip Actually Costs an Indian Traveller in 2026
By Flynk Editorial · · Updated

Dubai has a reputation for being expensive, and also for being surprisingly doable — and both are true, depending entirely on the choices you make. So instead of a vague "it depends," here's a real, itemised budget for five days in Dubai for one Indian traveller in 2026, built two ways: a sensible mid-range trip, and a leaner version for anyone watching every rupee. (Figures use an approximate rate of ₹23 to 1 AED; the live rate shifts, so treat these as close guides, not quotes.)
The short answer
A comfortable, well-rounded 5-day Dubai trip lands most Indian travellers around ₹85,000–1,10,000 per person. Travel lean — off-season flights, a 3-star stay, mostly public transport — and you can bring it closer to ₹55,000–65,000. Go premium on hotels and dining and it climbs past ₹1,50,000 easily. The spread is almost entirely down to flights, hotel, and how you eat.
Where the money actually goes
Flights (Delhi/Mumbai to Dubai, return)
This is your biggest single swing. Return economy fares run roughly ₹22,000 to ₹40,000, and timing is everything. The Dubai winter season (November to February) and Indian holiday peaks push fares up; book 6–8 weeks ahead and avoid festival weeks and you'll sit near the bottom of that range. Budget carriers and Tuesday/Wednesday departures help.
Visa
A 30-day single-entry tourist visa is ₹6,710 (or ₹8,560 if you need the 48-hour express service). It's a fixed, unavoidable line — but a small one against the total. Validity counts from your date of entry, so applying a week or two early doesn't waste days.
Hotel (4 nights)
- Mid-range (good 4-star, central): ₹6,000–9,000 a night, roughly ₹24,000–36,000.
- Lean (clean 3-star or well-reviewed budget stay in Deira/Bur Dubai): ₹3,500–5,000 a night, ₹14,000–20,000.
Staying near a Metro station saves you more than the nightly rate difference, because it cuts your taxi spend for the whole trip.
Food (per day)
Dubai feeds every budget. Indian and Pakistani restaurants in Deira and Karama serve full meals for AED 20–35 (₹460–800). Eat there for two meals and treat yourself to one nicer dinner, and ₹2,000–3,500 a day is realistic — call it ₹10,000–17,500 for five days. Fine-dining and hotel breakfasts can double that fast, so it's a genuine lever.
Attractions and experiences
This is where Dubai earns the trip. A sensible mix:
- Burj Khalifa, At the Top: about AED 169 (₹3,900), less if you book a non-peak slot ahead.
- Desert safari with dinner: about AED 150–250 (₹3,500–5,750) — most people's favourite half-day.
- Dubai Mall, the Fountain show, Dubai Frame, the souks, JBR beach, Global Village (seasonal): many of the best hours in Dubai are free or under ₹1,000.
- Optional splurges — a Marina dhow cruise, Ski Dubai, or a theme park — add ₹3,000–6,000 each.
Budget ₹12,000–20,000 for a well-chosen set of experiences without feeling like you missed the city.
Getting around
The Dubai Metro is cheap, clean and reaches most tourist spots. A Nol travel card topped up across five days runs about ₹800–1,500 total if you lean on the Metro, more if you default to taxis. Airport-to-hotel by taxi is roughly AED 60–90 (₹1,400–2,100).
The small, easy-to-forget lines
- Travel insurance: ₹500–1,200 for the trip — genuinely worth it, and sometimes asked for at the visa stage.
- eSIM / local SIM: ₹1,200–1,800 for tourist data.
- A buffer for shopping and the unexpected: keep ₹8,000–15,000 aside. Dubai is a shopping city; the Gold Souk and the malls have a way of finding your wallet.
Two sample budgets, side by side
Comfortable mid-range — around ₹95,000
Flights ₹32,000 · Visa ₹6,710 · Hotel (4-star) ₹30,000 · Food ₹14,000 · Experiences ₹16,000 · Transport ₹1,200 · Insurance + SIM ₹2,500 · Buffer ₹12,000.
Lean but real — around ₹60,000
Flights ₹24,000 · Visa ₹6,710 · Hotel (3-star) ₹16,000 · Food ₹10,000 · Experiences ₹9,000 · Transport ₹1,000 · Insurance + SIM ₹2,000 · Buffer ₹8,000.
Three ways to cut the cost without cutting the trip
- Move your dates, not your standards. Flying mid-week and just outside peak season can save ₹8,000–12,000 on flights alone — more than any on-ground saving.
- Pick the hotel for its Metro stop. A slightly cheaper room next to a station beats a "deal" that leaves you in taxis all week.
- Front-load the free Dubai. The Fountain, the beaches, the souks, the Marina walk and window-shopping the malls fill days beautifully at almost no cost, leaving your budget for the one or two experiences you actually came for.
Planning the trip?
The visa is the one piece you want sorted before you book too much else, and it's the easiest to get wrong on documents. Our Dubai visa guide lays out the current fees, documents and processing times for Indian travellers, and you can start your application there — we check your paperwork before it's submitted so a small mistake doesn't cost you the trip. Get that locked, and the rest of this budget is just the fun part.
