The fee, stated
Immigration New Zealand revised its charges in late 2024 and publishes the current Visitor Visa fee through its official fee finder, in NZD, varying by application type. Third-party sites still quote three different totals from three different eras — so rather than print a number that may be stale by your travel date, we confirm the live figure from INZ at filing and show it to you before payment. What is fixed: every visitor also pays the NZD 100 International Visitor Levy, non-refundable even on refusal.
The process
Apply online through the INZ portal, upload documents, pay the fee plus IVL, and wait — several weeks is normal, so start 6–8 weeks before travel. Some applicant profiles may qualify for the lighter NZeTA route instead of a full visa; eligibility is narrow and specific, and we check it case by case rather than assume.
