Vietnam E-Visa for Indians
Vietnam's 90-day e-visa covers Indian tourists generously — if the application photos and passport details are exactly right. Here's how to get it approved the first time.

Vietnam's e-visa system grants Indian passport holders up to **90 days, single or multiple entry**, applied for entirely online. It was also our very first customer's visa at Flynk, so we know its quirks personally.
The system approves clean applications quickly and rejects sloppy ones silently. Most Indian rejections come down to two things: the photo and the passport data entry.
The two details that decide approval
**The photo.** Vietnam wants a plain-background portrait *and* a straight photograph of your passport bio page. Glare on the passport laminate, cropped corners, or a selfie-style portrait are the classic rejection triggers.
**The data.** Your name must be entered exactly as printed in the passport — including the way Indian passports split given names and surnames. One transposed letter and the visa is technically invalid at the airport.
What you'll need
- Passport valid 6 months beyond arrival
- Digital portrait photo (plain background, no glasses)
- Clear photo of the passport bio page
- Entry and exit dates, and your intended entry checkpoint — the e-visa lists specific airports/land crossings, and you must use the one named
- Payment online; the government fee is around USD 25 for single entry, more for multiple
Processing time
Officially 3 working days; realistically allow 5–7, and longer around Tet (Vietnamese New Year, when the whole country pauses). There is no reliable official fast-track — anyone promising one is reselling risk.
At the airport
Carry a printed e-visa. Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City immigration move quickly; Hanoi can queue. Officers occasionally ask for hotel details — have your first booking handy.
FAQ
Single or multiple entry — which should I pick?
If your itinerary touches Cambodia or Laos and returns to Vietnam, choose multiple entry. For a straightforward holiday, single entry is cheaper and sufficient.
