Day-by-day itinerary

  1. Day 1 — Arrive Phnom Penh

Private pickup at Phnom Penh airport and the drive to the hotel. Check in and take the riverfront in the evening, where the Tonle Sap meets the Mekong and the whole city walks at dusk.

  2. Day 2 — Phnom Penh

The Royal Palace and the Silver Pagoda in the morning, floor tiled in solid silver, then the National Museum for the Angkorian stonework that was moved here. The afternoon covers Tuol Sleng and Choeung Ek if you want them; they are heavy, and we will reroute the day if you would rather not.

  3. Day 3 — Phnom Penh to Kampot

South by road, about four hours, to Kampot on the river under the Bokor hills. Kampot is pepper country and the old shophouse grid is still standing. Evening on the water as the sun goes behind the mountain.

  4. Day 4 — Kampot, then the night bus north

A slow morning: a pepper farm, the salt flats if the season is right, and the riverside. In the evening the sleeper bus north to Siem Reap. It is a bunk, not a seat, and it saves a full day of driving.

  5. Day 5 — Siem Reap and the Angkor temples

Arrive early, check in and rest. Then Angkor: Angkor Wat itself, Bayon with its face towers inside Angkor Thom, and Ta Prohm where the roots have taken the walls. The temple pass is included. Sunrise is the famous slot and we can move the start earlier if you want it.

  6. Day 6 — Siem Reap

The outer circuit or the floating villages on the Tonle Sap, boat fees included, depending on the water level that month. Evening free at the night market and Pub Street.

  7. Day 7 — Departure from Siem Reap

Breakfast, then the private transfer to Siem Reap airport.

More questions, answered

Is the Angkor pass included?

Yes. The temple pass for the days on the plan is in the price, along with the other entrance tickets and the boat fees listed.

What is the sleeper bus like?

A bunk with a curtain, air conditioning and a toilet on board, running overnight from Kampot to Siem Reap. It replaces a full day of driving. If you would rather fly or drive by day, we can price that instead.

Do Indians need a visa?

Yes. Cambodia issues an e-visa to Indian passport holders, applied for online before travel. It is not in the package price.
